Job Summary
To drive revenue growth by acquiring, developing, and retaining advertising clients with a strong focus on digital-first activations and integrated campaigns. This role will champion innovative, partnership-led formats that support MCL’s digital transformation, audience engagement, and commercial diversification agenda. The incumbent will work across Print, Digital, Events, and Social Media platforms to deliver measurable value to clients and accelerate MCL’s position as a leading media and solutions provider in Tanzania.
Full Job Description
- Client Prospecting & Strategic Targeting - Identify and pursue new business opportunities by analyzing client industries, marketing trends, and digital behaviors. Focus on high-growth sectors aligned with MCL’s digital and events verticals.
- Solution-Based Selling - Understand clients communication needs and propose strategic, multiplatform advertising solutions spanning web, social media, native content, events, and branded partnerships that align with their brand objectives.
- Product Knowledge & Innovation Leadership - Maintain in-depth knowledge of all MCL products and platforms (Newspapers, Websites, Social Media, Events, E-paper). Keep abreast of competitor offerings and emerging media trends to advise clients on the most effective digital first formats and content led activations.
- Campaign Execution & Coordination - Gather accurate client briefs, confirm placement details (ad type, duration, channels), and ensure campaigns are well executed by collaborating with the design, editorial, and production teams.
- Revenue Tracking & Reporting - Maintain updated sales pipeline reports, campaign status, and revenue forecasts. Submit daily itineraries and weekly performance updates, identifying blockers early and collaborating with line managers to resolve issues swiftly.
- Partnership Development - Proactively build long-term partnerships with clients and agencies by delivering value beyond standard advertising offering strategic insights, data-driven recommendations, and post-campaign reporting to build credibility and repeat business.
- Payment Collection & Compliance - Ensure all campaigns are supported with approved documentation (order forms, creative materials, billing instructions). Follow up diligently to collect payments within agreed credit periods and provide weekly collection status updates.
- Client Relationship Management (CRM) - Keep accurate records of all client interactions and account activities in CRM systems to enhance transparency, cross-functional alignment, and client service excellence.
